'The Baltic adventure is my very own personal run of a lifetime. It has changed me forever. In 107 days, I journeyed in running shoes along the Baltic Sea from Stralsund to Tallinn. Travelling alone, I was able to devote myself completely to nature, the people and their cultures. Strangers became friends, expectation turned into reality, boldness into self-confidence. I experienced bustling holiday resorts and lonely areas. Enjoyable breaks in the towns and cities alternated with abstinent running days. I felt the mysticism of the Baltic States, the magic of untouched nature and the diversity of people in seven countries. If you cycle every day, always along the sea, you will get very far, even in two to three weeks' holiday. This is what Guido Lange did, and travelled the west coast of Europe in two journeys. The result was a close-up view of landscapes, cultures and people. He rode on wonderful cycle paths in the Netherlands or on actually forbidden Routes National in France, through tunnels in the Basque country or through orange plantations in the south of Portugal. And sometimes into a dead end.
A book for all those who like to travel individually, whether by bike, boat, car or in hiking boots. A book for all those who enjoy cycling tours or road cycling. A book for all who are preparing for an adventure or want to walk the Camino to Santiago de Compostela. With over 200 colourful, mostly page-filling pictures.
