The 'Pyrenähenprotokoll' - Pyrenean Protocol - is a cycling travel book about a ten-day adventure over 26 passes from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean:
"The Pyrenees are pretty appealing from a cyclist's point of view. If I cross them completely, I start at one sea and cycle to another. Then they are considered to have relatively little traffic overall. As a cyclist, they offer me French road quality and, conveniently, the signposted "Route des Cols". This supposedly connects 34 passes on the way from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean, and its predecessor was a route through the thermal baths of these mountains, which Napoleon the Third had built. Trips to Spain are possible from time to time. France is also a country with a wonderful campsite culture. So my accommodation question was already answered. What could be better than always being outdoors in the mountains in summer? In this book, I keep a record of the mountain passes I have ridden. The main text describes my ten-day trip across the Pyrenees. After each stage, I take a closer look at the passes. There are also marginal notes on cultural features along the way."
